Nicole Durel Hebert, director of donor relations and development for the Acadiana Community Foundation, joined News15 at noon to share all the details about SOLA Giving Day.

The fifth annual SOLA Donation Day will take place on Thursday, May 5 starting at midnight and ending at 11:59:59 p.m. CST. SOLA Giving Day is a 24-hour online fundraising event for more than 190 registered nonprofits, churches, and schools that serve South Louisiana. SOLA Giving Day is hosted by the Community Foundation of Acadiana (CFA) for any local 501c3 nonprofit organization that wishes to participate.

Using a computer, laptop, tablet or smartphone, anyone can donate to support their favorite cause or organization by visiting www.solagivingday.org. Donations are easy to make and 100% tax deductible.

The advance donation period will end on Wednesday, May 4and at 11:59:59 p.m. and the 24-hour finale, SOLA Giving Day will begin at midnight on Thursday, May 5 and end at 11:59:59 p.m.

Matching donations totaling nearly $450,000 were obtained to support more than 80 organizations. A matching gift is a charitable contribution from private donors that will match donations from the general public dollar for dollar. A list of organizations that have received matching donations can be viewed online at https://www.solagivingday.org/matches.
