Michigan Diversity Council recognizes top organization and leader honorees at second annual National Black Men’s Leadership Summit

DETROIT, Aug. 2, 2022 /3BL Media/ — The Michigan Diversity Council (MIDC) will host the second annual National Black Men’s Leadership Summit taking place Thursday, August 18 from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Fort Pontchartrain Hotel. The event, in partnership with the National Diversity Council (NDC), will focus on the theme “Resilient Leadership: Connection, Community and Contribution”.

The 2022 National Black Men in Leadership Summit Awards spotlight individuals who have achieved success in their careers, while paving the way for Black men to advance in business and education. These individuals help create and promote a culture where black talent is supported and leveraged for organizational success. They demonstrate leadership excellence and high visibility in the Black community and maintain a record of professional achievement.

“Today, more than ever, it is imperative that we recognize and honor our leaders,” said Angeles Valenciano, CEO of the National Diversity Council. “Recipients are exemplary individuals who are leading the way for the black community as a whole.”

Dennis Kennedy, Founder and Chairman of the Board of the National Diversity Council, said: “It’s time to commit to increasing opportunities for Black men in the workplace and to celebrate accomplishments. of our community.”

In addition to individual and corporate awards, four scholarships of $1,000 to $2,000 will be awarded to black male students. Selected scholars will be individuals who demonstrate strong qualities of leadership, community involvement, and academic achievement. The scholarship is funded by the Michigan Diversity Council in partnership with Auto Club Group, AAA, Comerica Bank, Detroit Pistons, and Aerotek-Aston Carter-Actalent.
